los little guys - Dimitri Kalaitzidis + Erik Elizondo
Class Description: In this class we will focus on components of physical research through the study of improvisation, floor techniques, and structured material in order to discover the complexities and range of our movement potential. Our goal is to develop an understanding of the sources of movement patterns in order to bring clarity and depth into the way we enact physicality and movement research.
The practice will begin by becoming acquainted with the body and beginning to find mobility in the joints. From here we will introduce improvisational structures based on our own practices to increase stamina and isolate our coordination skills, making decisions in order to break habits and develop new patterns. We will then become familiar with the floor and how to direct energy in a more efficient way into, out of, and around the floor. We will conclude by applying everything through the exploration of set material.
